Umbria region is a large natural stage. Full of art and culture, of
evidences of the past, of new turmoil and trends. Umbria is made of 92
towns, many of which are medieval cities with a touch of the past,
marked by charming rural landscapes, a trip back through time in touch
with tradition, history and extraordinary monuments.
Umbria is the land of San Francis, it is the green heart
of Italy.
Umbria is a quiet and peaceful place where it is possible
to enjoy life, food based on traditional receipes, wine,
olive oil, truffle and mineral water.
Umbria
hosts great cultural events as Umbria Jazz in its three versions:
the winter edition in Orvieto, the Easter edition in Terni dedicated to
gospel and soul music, and the main one in Perugia, held in July, which
hosts the top stars of the current music scene and the Spoleto Festival
(with Maestro Menotti as the guarantee of sublime quality), the TodiArteFestival,
and the ancient and prestigious Sagra Musicale Umbra a festival
inspired by sacred music.
Famous are the historic and folklore commemorations: each city has its
own and the most famous are the Quintana in Foligno, the Gaite
in Bevagna, the Palio dei Terzieri in Cittą della Pieve and the
Balestra and Ceri in Gubbio.
Umbria is connected by airplane to Milan and it is less
